What DarkNetPedia Covers

DarkNetPedia is an independent reference site covering the parts of the internet most people never see clearly explained: the Tor network, PGP encryption, Monero and other privacy-focused cryptocurrencies, and the darknet markets and forums people search for by name. The goal is the same one any reference work has — explain what something is, how it actually works, and what a reader needs to know before they touch it, without assuming they already understand the terminology or the risks involved.

How We Source and Verify

Every guide starts from public, checkable material: peer-reviewed research, law enforcement advisories and press releases, security-vendor write-ups, and — where it's safe to do so — direct testing of the software and tools we cover, such as installing Tor Browser, generating a PGP key, or setting up Tails. Market and forum pages are handled differently: a market's claims about its own uptime, escrow record, or vendor base are treated as the market's own claim about itself, not as a confirmed fact, and the page says so explicitly rather than repeating marketing copy as if it had been independently verified.

What We Don't Do

DarkNetPedia carries no affiliate links, no paid placements, no sponsored listings, and no advertising of any kind — see the Privacy Policy for the technical detail on what does and doesn't run on this site. A market or forum being listed here is not an endorsement, and its position on any page is not for sale. Where we can't confirm something, the page says we can't confirm it instead of implying otherwise.

Corrections and Accuracy

Every page that has been substantively edited carries a visible "Updated" date, and this site treats a factual error as something to fix, not defend. Onion addresses rotate, markets shut down, and research gets superseded — if something on this site is wrong, out of date, or unclear, tell us and we'll correct it or explain why we haven't.

Who Writes This

Content on DarkNetPedia is researched, written, and maintained by DarkNetPedia Admin — the single account responsible for everything published here. That page covers coverage areas, sourcing standards, and how pages get checked before they go live.
